Blogger Diary: Joy Adaeze’s Day 2 at New York Fashion Week
Day 2 of NYFW was full of food, fab models, five fashion shows and a really cool event! I was going for a casual-chic look today and chose my fave bebe leather panel skirt, a cozy sweatshirt and colorblocked platform heels. Since it was literally freezing outside, I topped off the look with a faux fur coat! Grey is one of my fave colors.
I love seeing the street style photographers when I get to Lincoln Center for shows. They are always so much fun and full of energy. Here I am getting snapped by SocialBliss!
After I attend a show I like to review the notes that I took. This really helps for when I write my Hello Beautiful and Huffington Post review later that night.
Aside from writing and blogging, I am also a fashion host. On this day I interviewed a 10-year-old fashion prodigy, Sunny Melet. She is a designer and so fashion savvy. We talked about her personal style and what trends she’s looking forward to for fall. The tables had turned since last season (in September) she interviewed me! Love her
She is the next big thing!
After one of the shows, I went backstage and took silly pics with my friend and model Ataui Deng, Ajak Deng and Nykhor. They are awesome! So gorg.
Each season, I always look forward to attending shows with my best friend, stylist Wayman Bannerman. Here we are waiting for a show to begin. Cheese! After the show, I ran into super blogger Chiara Ferragni of The Blonde Salad! She was so fun.
Off to lunch across the street with Way! We were starved. I had the yummy turkey burger, while he had the crabcakes! Mmmm!
Time for another show. This one’s offsite, so we hopped in a cab, then walked over. I am loving my outfit today. Such a cool mix!
Show’s over, now time for the Daily Front Row/Duro Olowu event! I had a great time, one of the best events I’ve been to, hands down.
OMG! I met fashion icon Iris Apfel! She loved my outfit and was just amazing! I said to myself last year that I wanted to meet her, so I was beyond thrilled when it actually happened.
Then I met designer Duro Olowu. We’re both Nigerian! He’s an awesome designer and I love what he does with prints. My friend Julee and I! I always love seeing her. She’s so fab
It was another whirlwind day! Five shows and an event. I went straight home and got right to work on reviews. Deadlines, dahlin’! See you tomorrow for Day 3.
