Tastemaker: 5 Delicious Treat & Scary Movie Pairings
Staying in this weekend? Here are a few horror classics that still make us squeamish and should therefore make your Netflix queue or iTunes rent list. The fun doesn’t stop there! We’ve paired them with delicious treats too.
1. A Nightmare on Elm Street paired with Pilgrim Hat Cupcakes, minus the Pilgrim part, inspired by Freddy’s hat.
2. Beetlejuice paired with Iowa Girl Eats’ Dirt Cake, inspired by the horrific-yet-huggable worms. Side note: Makeup artist Ve Neill won an Oscar for her work on this, so you know it’s good.
3. It paired with Taste & Tell’s Red Velvet Cheese Ball inspired by It’s hideous (but in this case delicious) clown nose.
4. Poltergeist paired with Iowa Girl Eats’ Steak Tacos, inspired by the steak scene and because, well, there has to be a “main” course somewhere in here.
5. Gimme Some Oven‘s Guacamole Cups paired with The Exorcist. This is one of the scariest movies of all time. If you’ve dared to watch it before, you’ll get why we went with the guacamole. Also, we discovered Iowa Girl Eats’ secret diet recipe, Green Monster Smoothie, in the search for green treats and just had to share it.
