There’s something so effortless-chic about Catarina de Anciães’ style that makes us want to immediately take off on a European vacay to her home country of Portugal. Her fashion and lifestyle blog, KATEFP, proves that sleek, simple outfits are often the most stunning…and with the rocker look on our fashion radar right now, we love how she works studs, leather and booties into her outfits.
What’s your favorite rock-inspired piece this season?

STYLUST: Who and/or what inspired you to start KATEFP?
CATARINA: Since I can remember, my passion has always been fashion, so our inspiration to create KATEFP was definitely the need to have our personal space where people could join in this journey and also share their love for fashion and relate to us. My biggest stroke of luck is that my boyfriend, Fernando Pimpão (the blog’s wonderful photographer) also shares this passion with me, so we make a great team and, through KATEFP, try to offer a window into our lifestyle.
STYLUST: Who and/or what inspires your personal style?
CATARINA: I get my inspiration from everything that surrounds me…the beautiful things in life. It could be fashion magazine editorials, a stylish person walking down the street, interior design…and of course I’m inspired by the fashion blogs that I really like to look at.

STYLUST: What clothing piece would you consider a must-have in every woman’s closet?
CATARINA: My must-have has to be a great coat, as my stylish grandma taught me, “If you have an amazing coat and underneath you’re wearing a simple outfit, you’ll always look chic.”
STYLUST: What are some of your key fall items?
CATARINA: My ultimate fall item has to be timeless, so it’s definitely a classic cashmere coat. But of course my other key fall items reflect this season’s trends: oxblood leather pants, a faux fur leather-sleeved jacket, a pair of statement earrings and studded booties.

STYLUST: What’s on your current playlist?
CATARINA: Friendly Fires, Axwell, Avicii, Pete Tong…my playlist is like how I dress in the morning: it depends on my mood. But currently, this is what I’m listening to.
STYLUST: Any words of advice for someone looking to start their own blog?
CATARINA: Always stay true to yourself; don’t be the copy of someone who you admire, because being a copycat is never a good idea. Be confident in our own personal style and you, because a blog has to show your beautiful personality. And keep your blog beautiful “inside and out.” It’s as important to have great pictures as it is to have a well-written article. It’s hard work, so dedicate yourself to it with all your love.
