Styling Tips: Jolyn’s 4 Pieces to Wear Now & Later

Well, it’s that time of year again, ladies…yes, the time when you’re out shopping for a dress for the last summer wedding you have to go to and then you see sweaters and wraps in place of your favorite store’s (bebe, I hope) summer dresses! Gasp! Or boots in place of sandals, leggings instead of skirts…you get where I’m going with this.

Before you break into a panic that you’ve yet to drink your last summer mojito, rest assured that the looks in this post will make the seaonal transition from summer to fall so smooth you’ll be both wearing and drinking (Spanish Coffee, anyone?) the sweetness of the next season without a second worry about summer’s end.

THE SEQUIN DRESS>> Get your party on! Layers aren’t just for warmth or for all outfits winter and fall but can also change the look of an outfit. This dress on its own is stunning as the scoop neck shows just the right amount of “sexy back” aka Justin Timberlake’s signature style. But paired with a blazer (especially this blazer, which in my opinion works with everything), the look transforms from plain ol’ sexy to sexy-sophisticated. Is it too early to plan outfits for the holidays?

GET THE LOOK>> Sequin & Seed Bead Tank Dress, Hallie Crepe Jacket, Mixed Metal Chain Duster Earring (195441, $24, currently unavailable on bebe.com, but check your local bebe store), Rosario Satin Platform Pump

THE LEATHER SKIRT>> A vixen for all seasons. This very popular leather skirt (hurry, they’re going quick!) looks amazing with this feminine and romantic bodysuit. I love pairing “bold” fabrications like leather with softer textures and colors to create that sexy-but-still-innocent look. Add a leather-detailed trench, and this outfit transforms from summer to fall effortlessly.

GET THE LOOK>> Long Sleeve Silk Wrap Bodysuit (186490, $79, currently unavailable on bebe.com, but check your local bebe store), Leather Pencil Skirt (203293, $169, currently unavailable on bebe.com, but check your local bebe store), Patent Trim Trench Coat (198464, $139, currently unavailable on bebe.com, but check your local bebe store), Crystal & Lucite Geometric Earring, Rhinestone Chain Woven WristletRosario Satin Platform Pump

THE SKINNY JEAN>> Casual meets sexy. Our denim right now is to dress for, so imagine my excitement when I got to create not one but two looks for both summer and fall with one of my most favorite denim washes and cuts (Signature Stretch Skinny, in case you were wondering). But alas…this post is not about denim but the looks we wear with it. This knit sequin blouse is a standout piece on its own, but pair it with this sheer-back shrug and you have a comfy-cozy look that can be worn during all seasons. And don’t be afraid to mix up your layering pieces! Instead of going straight to your trusty cardigan or shrug, look for pieces that have some detail. This sheer-back shrug allows a little peek at your outfit underneath while still being extremely wearable and warm. So whether you’re drinking lemonade or hot cocoa, this is the perfect outfit for you.

GET THE LOOK>> Cowl Neck Sequin TankMystic Icon Skinny Jean, Pleated Bottom Jacket, Fringe & Bead Hoop Duster Earring, Multi Chain Double Rings, Mixed Metal Geometric Bangle Set (195485, $34, currently unavailable on bebe.com), Whitney Woven ToteRosario Satin Platform Pump

THE JERSEY LEGGING>> A pair of black leggings is a staple item for ALL seasons and can easily be paired with all types of looks for all types of weather. The great thing about the fitted bottom is that it makes layering oh-so-easy, so this leather jacket is the perfect add-on to take the look from August to October. Mix up the fit of your pieces too. I love wearing more blousy tops with fitted bottoms and, on the flip side, flowing bottoms with fitted tops. Mixing metals is also a huge trend right now, so have fun—play up the hardware of your outfit. These leggings have zipper detailing, which sets the tone when picking out the rest of your accessories.

GET THE LOOK>> 3/4 Sleeve Collared Blouse, Jersey Yoke Legging, Zipper Bomber Leatherette Jacket, Hammered Mixed Metal Statement Earring, Square Stone Clasp Bracelet
