So Booked: 100 Ideas That Changed Fashion
You know those lists in fashion mags that you just can’t ignore, like “25 Dos and Don’ts” and “Spring’s Top 10 Makeup Trends”? Harriet Worsley’s 100 Ideas That Changed Fashion is like that, in book form—it’s totally addictive! We couldn’t put it down, and that says something.
A pretty easy read but packed with info, not to mention page after page of breathtaking photos, this trendy tome covers major fashion events and inventions from 1900 to 2000. From the first couture dresses to wearable tech devices (yes, for real), each two-page spread features a different chic topic.
We absolutely LOVED the sections on the white wedding dress, the clutch bag, the little black dress, Dior’s New Look, platforms and wedges, the T-shirt, the jumpsuit, the supermodel, mod fashion and ’70s glam. Oh, and did you know that “the first bikini was deemed so outrageous that only a stripper would model it”?
