Beauty Buzz: 3 Easy-Chic Winter Hair Styles We’re Totally Loving
Whether it’s a company holiday party or family get together, we have 3 of the most fabulously-easy hair styles to keep you looking effortlessly sexy and cool from head to toe all season long. Now you can pay attention to more important things, like… a midnight kiss?
(1) THE CURLY SUE
WHY WE LOVE IT>> Whether you rock this look with bangs or parted down the middle, there is something so chic about lightly curled hair. It adds a certain ’70s-glam allure we’re so inspired by.
HOW TO GET IT>> Use a volume spray, reach for the extra wide hot rollers or the 1.5″ curling iron and just do the ends.
LOOKS GOOD WITH>> Butterfly Print Dress (192311, $119), Curious Oversized Aviator Sunglasses (184564, $79)
AS SEEN IN>> Anna Sui Runway Fall 2011 (Frazer Harrison/Getty), Marc by Marc Jacobs Fall 2011 Runway (Jamal Countess/Getty)
(2) THE CHIC BUN
WHY WE LOVE IT>> It gives off a flawless level of elegance and allows us to show off our duster earrings and dresses with back embellishments. Plus, it involves little to no actual work on our part. Can’t beat that!
HOW TO GET IT>> For a loose bun hold you hair like you’re going to style a low ponytail, twist it around until it forms a bun, and wrap an elastic over it. For a more polish look, pull your hair into a low ponytail using an elastic, tightly twist your hair around it to form a bun, and use hairpins to keep it in place. Lastly, spray a touch of hairspray.
LOOKS GOOD WITH>> Cozy Faux Fur Belted Jacket (185112, $179), Open Back Lace Dress- WEB EXCLUSIVE (181733, $59)
AS SEEN IN>> Iceberg Autumn/Winter 2011 Runway (Tullio M. Puglia/Getty), Naeem Khan (Frazer Harrison/Getty)
(3) THE LOW PONYTAIL
WHY WE LOVE IT>> It adds a sophisticated yet girly pop to our look. Plus, it’s just about the easiest, no-fail do out there! It really comes in handy when you’re in hurry to meet up with your girlfriends after a long day at work (or with the in-laws).
HOW TO GET IT>> For a low-key pony, simply part you hair on the side and pull it back loose and low. Done! For a semi-formal look, work a straightening iron on your hair, tightly pull your hair back with a thin elastic band, take a strand of hair from underneath the pony, wrap it around it to hide the band, and pin it with a hairpin. Lastly, secure it with a touch hairspray to avoid fly-aways.
LOOKS GOOD WITH>> One Sleeve Shiny Pintuck Dress (190088, $69), Lightweight Lurex Tunic (191959, $54)
AS SEEN IN>> Gianfranco Brioni Autumn/Winter 2011 (Vittorio Zunino Celotto/Getty), Autumn/Winter 2011 (Elisabeth Villa/Getty)
