Trend Report: Borrowing From the Boys Never Looked So Chic
Borrowing from the boys is nothing new—menswear is sexy! But we’re in love with this season’s crisp button-up shirts and sleek, tailored jackets (for starters). While toughening up your style may not seem like the cutest idea, we’ve found a strikingly feminine way to work this fall trend into our wardrobe with little effort by anchoring sleek pieces with high-gloss dazzle and owning those hourglass silhouettes from day to night. Take it from a few of our favorite A-listers, playing up both sides never looked so chic!
(1) NUDE SWINGS>> It’s all about texture, tailoring and balance. Soften your look by working in neutral hues and sequins with sleek blacks. Match tailored menswear-inspired pants back to a sleeveless feminine top and finish with sky-high heels and a statement necklace. Or pull it off by pairing a fitted jacket with anything from a muted jean to a bodycon dress. Turn up the shine with glossy sequins for an ultra-feminine finish.

(2) THERE’S A NEW TOMBOY IN TOWN>> Black and white is a timeless, power couple color-combo that almost always exudes elegance and sophistication—evident in anything from pairing a crisp button-up with a sleek jacket and killer red heels to rocking a skinny tie with an evening gown. Go for glossy clutches, leopard accents and jewel-toned heels to add the perfect amount of femme-fatale attitude.
